Cafe 70 Beans, Sanpada, Navi Mumbai

Hello Foodies!

Today we are covering a café, the highest rated café in Navi Mumbai and Mumbai apparently! This café is not just a coffee serving place, but extends its menu to proper lunch items like Chicken Makhani, Egg Curry and more! We were here on a super rainy day for the tasting of new menu, which by the way, they keep adding new items every month! How cool is that?

When the clouds are pouring in, all you want to do is get bundled up and have your comfort food, right? We did exactly the same! Before 70 beans, our comfort food was the classic mac n cheese. But this little café changed that completely! How? Let’s find out!
We hogged, oops, tasted a lot of dishes, so hang on for a very long ride, the most epic food journey we had at this café!

Drinks:

1.       Coffee on the rocks: This coffee is a blend of Robusta and Arabica coffee for all you food nerds out there! This drink was the perfect start to our long meal. It is fresh, smooth and perfectly sweetened to elevate the richness of the coffee blends. This drink goes to our favorites category!

2.       Masala Jaljeera Soda: This one is a classic and one can hardly ever go wrong with it. But have you been to any café that serves jaljeera? Well that’s 70 Beans for you! This soda had a strong kick to it, like regular jaljeera soda kicked up 5 notches!

3.       Gulkand Shake: Now gulkand and paan are two flavors that are in trend these days. The gulkand shake had proper amount of gulkand in it for you to recognize the flavor. But it was also balanced by other ingredients so the gulkand flavor wasn’t in-your-face strong. A nice unique milkshake though! Oh, and they import their Gulkand from Indore!

4.      Virgin Coffee Mojito: This is a very unique combination of coffee and mint. It had the coffee kick which slightly interfered with the minty coolness. A very different kind of Mojito indeed!

5.       Masala Lemonade: This is a slightly tweaked version of lemonade. Order it after or in-between your meals to quench your thirst.

6.       Sharjah Shake: This drink was smooth, milky and delicious. But somehow the fragrance of this shake reminded us of syrup! It was uncanny!

7.       Hot Chocolate ala 70 Beans: What we found after having hot chocolate at many places was there wasn’t enough chocolatey goodness in any of them! But this one had all that we wanted and more! They served this tall glass of goodness with mini marshmallows and whipped cream! This is the perfect rainy day drink for us! You get the taste of rich chocolate throughout the drink, which is fantastic! We loved the consistency of this hot chocolate!

Food:

1.       Smashed Crispy Baby Potatoes in Creamy BBQ Sauce: Look how gorgeous it looks! The baby potatoes had the most amazing texture! The crust of the potatoes was super crispy and the insides were soft and gooey! The sauce was the star in this dish. It had a sweet and tangy taste that was excellent! We never had a BBQ Sauce that tasted this creamy and rich! Loved it to bits! This dish is also available in Mushroom variant wherein they stuff the mushroom with lots of cheese. The Mushroom one isn’t mentioned in the menu though.

2.       Spicy Chicken Cheese Garlic Bread: This garlic bread looks like your regular garlic bread with no chicken pieces at the top. But wait till your first bite; you’ll be instantly drawn to this delicious dish. The bread is soft and fresh, there is a layer of flavorful chicken and then there is lots of melted cheese. This dish was perfection!

3.       Achaari Panini: Now this dish has the precise taste of North Indian Achaar (pickle) masala. The mustard flavor dominates this dish. We liked this Panini. This one is also available in Chicken variant for all you meat lovers out there!

4.       Veg Bedraggled Nachos: The nachos looked toothsome but lacked finishing. The chips were a tad bit soggy from the toppings. This dish was also covered in oodles of cheese! Also, this dish is available in Chicken variant.

5.       Chilly Cheese Garlic Loaf: The best ever garlic loaf, yes we said that! You all know our love affair with cheese and garlic very well by now! This one was perfect! There was distinct flavor of each ingredient mentioned in the name of this dish. The bread also had a wonderful buttery richness to it.

6.       Stuffed Cheese Omelet with Shredded Chicken: If you are an eggetarian, then tell them to skip the shredded chicken filling. This dish was so delectable, you’d want to follow the campaign- ‘Sunday ho ya Monday, Roz Khaao Ande’! The eggs were cooked to perfection and the shredded chicken just lifted the dish so well! The crispy breads were soaked in butter yet they weren’t soggy! Loved this one as well!

7.       Meal for 2 ala 70 Beans with Butter Kulcha: Their meals are equally good, if not better as compared to their other food items. The gravy has the decadence that goes amazingly well with the kulcha. The kulchas are soft pieces of bread that aren’t too heavy on the stomach!

8.       Spaghetti in Mushroom Ragu/ Spinach Ragu: This dish was the best spaghetti we ever had! Or even pasta for that sake! The spaghetti was dunked in the most creamy, luxurious and rich sauce. This dish was so smooth it blew our minds! You HAVE TO order this one guys! The mushroom ragu isn’t spicy, but don’t worry, the spinach ragu covers that spot! The spinach ragu is creamy, cheesy yet it has the spicy kick to make you go gaga over this dish! By now you might have guessed it that this is the dish that replaced our comfort food! Wish we had enough space in our tummy to eat the whole thing! But even after taking a bite or two of each dish, we were full by now!

Desserts:

1.       Fusion Gulkand Shahi Tukda: You see how Gulkand is making trend these days? This dish was a combination of gulkand and condensed milk. This dish is really nice and unique.

2.       Chocoberry Sandwich: The name was very appealing, but we felt that it was a tad bit too sweet! The sandwich had nutella, strawberry compote & whipped cream as fillings. The compote somehow was overly sweet which kind of dampened the whole vibe.

3.       Nutty Brownie Sundae: No matter how full you are, there is always some space for desserts! This dessert is just the perfect ending of a huge meal! There’s ice cream, nuts, chocolate sauce, chocolate chips, brownies and all the good things in the world mish mashed into this heavenly dessert! Do give this one a shot!

What a glorious meal we had! We were stuffed is a major understatement of what we felt like that day! Will we come back to 70 Beans? Definitely, especially for the spaghetti!
